Ball Python Breeding '06:  This season I have paired up my albino male with three het-albino females.  He bred all three of them repeatedly throughout the season, but only one girl ended up laying eggs.  She is a female I hatched out in 2002 from my biggest girl Nessa.  She ovulated on 3/25/06 and laid 8 eggs on 5/19/06.  They are in the incubator now and are due to hatch in mid-July.  

I also paired up my two pastel males with three females, and again only one girl ended up laying eggs.  She is also a big girl I hatched from Nessa in 2000.  She ovulated on 5/10/06 and laid 10 eggs on 6/30/06.  They are in the incubator now and are due due to hatch in late August.  

Another pair I tried to breed this year was the het-carmel pair I purchased from NERD.  The male sits on top of the female constantly, but I have yet to observe a breeding.  She is still not eating yet (June '06) but I haven't seen any other signs her being gravid.

UPDATE 8/17/06 : The results are in!  The eight eggs from the het-albino to the albino male hatched on 7/21/06.  There were five albinos and three het-albinos, with a sex ratio of 4.4!  See hatchling photos and current photos above.  There were ten eggs laid by my normal female bred to my pastel male.  They hatched on 8/30/06. Three pastels and six normals, the tenth normal crawled out and died after hatching.  See photos of pastels and normal above.
